SCOTLAND‘S WINTER fatstock event is to relocate this year from its traditional home in Perth to the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston, Edinburgh.
The move will allow the Scottish National Winter Fair to expand and to offer more trade space.
But, despite three years of talks, organisers of the winter fair have decided not to join forces with AgriScot.
The merger would have created a single, national winter showcase for Scottish farming in the nation‘s capital city.
The failed merger means AgriScot, which is mainly a dairy cow and trade show, will be held for the fifth time at Ingliston on Nov 16.
The winter fair will then be held at the same venue a week later.
A spokesman for AgriScot said he was surprised at the Scottish National Fatstock Club‘s decision to keep its winter fair separate.
