Whilst at a friends farm in East Sussex, Yale Brewer was helping mucking out the cow sheds with a Massey Ferguson 390 and loader, loading a 1990 Ford 7810 III towing a rather small, old but functional trailer.
The trailer was backed up to the heap in the field and then raised a metre, when the added load on the rear axle found a soft patch which cause the trailer to topple.
Because the trailer is old and has a narrower wheel base, it already has a name for itself, as it’s not the first time this has happened!
Luckily, the only damage was a bit of pride, a bent drawbar pin and a sheared bolt on the clevis of the drawbar.
Many thanks to Yale Brewer for sending these in. Why not get your mishaps online or, if you’re lucky, in the magazine. Just send them in by email or by post with your name and contact details with a short explanation to firstname.lastname@example.org or: Farmers Weekly, Quadrant House, The Quadrant, Sutton, Surrey, SM2 5AS.
