Almost 30% of all maize grown in England now goes for anaerobic digestion, according to new government figures released today (8 December). The 2016 English maize crop area totaled 182,000ha, up 4.8% on the previous year, but the proportion of the overall area being grown specifically for AD grew by 55% to 52,280ha.
