Agrovista joins SmartestEnergy at Cereals

Agrovista has joined forces with SmartestEnergy to provide a one-stop shop at Cereals for farmers and landowners wanting to find out more about potential new revenue streams from diversifying into renewable energy production.

The UK’s leading agronomy and agrochemical supply company, Agrovista, is sharing part of its stand with advisers from SmartestEnergy, who will be ready to answer questions on all aspects of generating renewable energy.

Agrovista has a long history of helping farmers make the most of their assets and the growing interest in renewable energy is likely to be key focus for the agricultural sector over the coming years.

Agrogate, the farm business division of Agrovista, provides advice on all aspects of on-farm energy production, including site viability work for wind or anaerobic digestion plants.

SmartestEnergy, the UK’s leading purchaser of energy generated by the independent sector, has around a 40% market share of independent generation and already works with farmers, landowners and community project developers on schemes ranging from a variety of technologies including wind, CHP, landfill gas to biomass generators and hydro-electric schemes.

SmartestEnergy’s knowledge and expertise of renewable generation, from technical issues to wider energy market matters, has helped new entrants into the market to realise their ambitions and develop additional income streams.

They have strong working relationships with project funders who support new developments with the backing of guaranteed revenues that SmartestEnergy contracts provide.

Not only are SmartestEnergy able to provide the generator with Power Purchase Agreements that can be tailored to customer needs depending on site number, size or technology, but they are also a voluntary Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) provider for wind, hydro, solar and anaerobic digestion projects up to 5MW.

Both Agrogate and SmartestEnergy will be on the Agrovista stand number 700 at Cereals for advice or an informal discussion about on-farm energy options.
