WINNERS IN the British Edible Pulse Association 2004 competition have been announced.
National champion marrowfat peas producers are Norfolk-based MJ Storey & Son with a sample of Kabuki entered by Dunns (Long Sutton), which won the BEPA Rose Bowl.
Karova Farms, Sussex, growing Nitouche entered by Saxon Agriculture, won the large blues section taking the Cebeco Challenge Cup.
National yellow peas champion is Beds-based Farmcare with Jackpot submitted by Dalmark Grain, and top small blues grower is Charles Tabor from Essex with Catania from SW Seeds.
Nile, from John Cooling in West Yorks and entered by Banks Cargill, took the Maviga Challenge Cup for human consumption beans.
