Hagbergs fall in Hampshire

Wheat harvest has gone well for Tom Coleman at Lower Norton Farm, Winchester. One hundred and twenty hectares of Claire, Robigus and Einstein yielded 9.4 – 11t/ha which he was pleased with as it is above the five year average.

Mr Coleman said Hagbergs had fallen, following the wet weather and so none of his group three wheats made soft milling premium.

Harvest had been much easier than last year and had only been stopped by rain for a couple of days compared to last year’s “total struggle”.
