Savings in fungicide and plant growth regulator of up to 25% have been made since Oxfordshire farming business Ben Smith & Sons introduced variable-rate spray applications. After four seasons, that translates to a 10-15% reduction across the winter wheat and spring barley acreage, with some seasonal fluctuations according to growing conditions.
