Keith Chegwin launches ‘Chip Flicks’ campaign
The Potato Council has kicked off its annual campaign to promote chips – this year involving a song by TV presenter Keith Chegwin and recreations of classic films such as ‘Top Gun’ and Goldfinger’ in chip form.
National Chip Week runs from 9-15 February and is designed to promote the fact that chips can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and have all the goodness of potatoes.
Last year National Chip Week generated over £3m worth of positive coverage for chips and potatoes. About 10% of British potatoes go into the fish and chip shop sector.
There is a programme of activity planned for the week. Fish and chip shops are being encouraged to take part in the Perfect Portion Awards and the PC has also distributed lorry stickers promoting the week.
But the video content on the Love Chips website is the element that has caught our eye here at Farmers Weekly. You can watch them all here and we’d love to hear your verdict on the forums.
