Larger 57 series Imants Revolution Spader to debut at Cereals

The new larger 57 Series Imants Spader from JC Machinery will be making its debut at Cereals 2010.

Confidence in the idea of using a spader to replace traditional ploughing, cultivating and incorporation processes has soared since the introduction of the Imants 47 Series Spader five years ago.

The concept is now widely accepted as the Imants Spader has overcome the doubters and proved itself to be an extremely effective and efficient alternative, easily recouping the initial investment. Now the larger 57 Series is available offering even greater performance and economies of scale.

Launched in the UK earlier this year, the 57 Series Imants Revolution provides cultivation, incorporation, main tillage and seed-bed preparation in a single pass.

Following the success of the 47 series which features six banks of four spade arms, the 57 comes with seven banks of six spades per rotor revolution. This additional spading capacity translates into an impressive 50% increase in the work rate.

The well-known advantages of Imants Spaders such as mixing the soil thoroughly and breaking through the plough pan for decompaction are achieved even more effortlessly with the larger 57 series covering up to 2.5 hectares per hour. Its large power driven Spiro Rotor placed behind the spade shaft ensures the seed bed is flat and evenly formed; an essential requirement for successful seed germination.

The 57 Series is available in working widths of 3m and 4.5m with the 3m width model currently generating considerable interest providing an ideal working speed of 9.0 km/h which in turn facilitates a consistent 2.5ha/per hour.

The 57 Series is equipped with a heavy duty PTO powered rotary tiller action with camshaft controller which reduces the chance of wheel slip or smearing.

The large diameter of the spade shaft improves drainage, water movement and the flow of nutrients in the soil as well as decompacting and aerating the soil for maximum root development.
