Lower wheat bulb fly risk
Wheat bulb fly risk is lower than last year, Dow AgroSciences is reporting.
But vigilance is still required and cereal growers with crops potentially under threat should carry out a risk assessment.
An HGCA autumn survey of wheat bulb fly eggs in 35 fields across eastern and northern England found 9% of fields in the highest risk category, with egg numbers of over 250/sq m compared with 29% last autumn.
