Rain hits bushel weights

With 32ha remaining of 1160ha, harvest has gone well this year for Peter Tegerdine on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border. Yields averaged between 7.5 – 10t/ha, with best yields seen on Robigus.

He said quality had generally been good until the last rain, which caused bushel weights to deteriorate slightly. While bushel weights were slightly down on average, they were “far superior” to last year, he said.

Next year he plans to grow a small amount of Sokrates, plus Robigus and Einstein, as he said they were the best varieties this year.
