HGCA is streamlining its Recommended List division in a bid to make the system more efficient.
Crop Evaluation Limited (CEL), the HGCA-owned company that currently manages the RL, will be disbanded, bringing the whole system under the HGCA banner, said Susanna Bolton, CEL director.
“CEL was reviewed last year and we found the separate company gave no real advantage.”
It will be replaced with a “more streamlined” HGCA project board, which would be put in place in the new financial year, she said.
In the short term, there would be no change to the Recommended List, but it was hoped the reshuffle would speed up the recommendation process and allow better integration with HGCA research, Ms Bolton added.
