Photogallery: Open Farm Sunday broiler unit
Frogmary Green Farm, Somerset, opened its doors again this year for both Open Farm Sunday and Open Farm School day, and has shared photographs of the days with Poultry World.
Nick and Claire Bragg showcased farming to 560 school children, 80 helpers and two vicars on Friday 7 June, and more than 1,000 people visited their mixed farm on Open Farm Sunday (9 June).
As well as an arable enterprise, the farm rears broilers to Freedom Food standards, and has installed a viewing gallery in one shed so people can see how poultry is grown without compromising biosecurity.
This year an incubator and a small pen containing chicks – a great hit, according to Claire – all helped give visitors an insight into how their food is produced.
