Agricultural buying group Anglia Farmers predicts annual turnover will be up 13% by early 2011, after half-year results revealed strong growth.
Turnover for the six months to the end of July was £81.2m and the group’s forecast to the end of January 2011 is £160m, some £18m more than last year.
Chief executive Clarke Willis said membership had grown steadily and existing members were spending more with the company. Turnover had the potential to reach £250m, he said.
“Unlike most business scenarios where ‘turnover is vanity’ this cannot be said for a turnover levy-based purchasing group. Our business model means increasing volumes to negotiate better prices.”
