Countess inspired by the debate

HRH the Countess of Wessex said she was inspired by listening to some of farming’s leading young entrepreneurs at last week’s The Future’s In Your Hands event at Cirencester.

The Countess, president of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, attended the event and took part in group discussions.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join in this debate and I’ve been enourmously inspired by what I’ve heard today.

“I’ve spent the last few months gaining a more in-depth understanding of this amazing industry. Today has given me the opportunity to hear some excellent examples of farming at its business best.

“I certainly believe that by using all examples of best practice, by sharing information and by bringing our farming communities closer together, we can increase the chances and opportunities for success.

“Although there are many hurdles for farming to overcome, it’s not all bad news. The future for British food and farming may well be looking up.

“If this example is anything to go by I believe the future of farming in this country is in good hands.”
