Dairy Farmers of Britain announces September milk price rise

Dairy Farmers of Britain is set to increase the amount it pays its suppliers for liquid milk from next month.

Farmers supplying the dairy will receive an extra 2.3p for a standard litre from 1 Setember, taking the price to 21p/litre.

Andrew Cooksey, Dairy Farmers of Britian chief executive, said the increase was part of the dairy’s commitment to pass increased market returns to producers.

“We are focused on achieving further price increases from all market sectors to ensure that we achieve appropriate returns for our members’ milk,” he said.

“And as a broadbased business we are in an excellent position to deliver positive price progression in the coming months.”
