FWAG launches renewables advice service

Farmers interested in generating renewable energy from their farm can now get an independent site appraisal and advice on the full range of options available.

The Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group has launched a renewable energy assessment service, to provide impartial advice to farmers for a one-off fee of £250. An adviser will visit the farm, describe the range of technologies available and assess their potential on site. They will also examine likely costs and payback times, and signpost installers, solicitors and planning advisers, who can help farmers to take the next steps.

“This is completely impartial, independent advice, so farmers can make a decision with their eyes wide open,” said farm conservation adviser Chantal Brown. For more information call 02476 696699.
