Initiative to Aid Tourism
TOURISM IN Devon is set to benefit from a £1.2m grant aimed at helping tourism businesses become more competitive.
The EU-funded Objective Two grant will develop marketing to out-of-season, high-spend visitors and should boost revenues by 2.25m by December 2007. It will generate 32 new jobs and should deliver an extra 45,000 tourist nights over the same period.
The three-year project will be driven by a partnership of numerous councils, Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks and the North Devon Marketing Bureau. The campaign is called Discover Devon Naturally.
