Life after the AWB – farm staff questions answered

What will happen to farm pay when the Agricultural Wages Order for England and Wales expires on 30 September?


As things stand, farm employers in England and Wales will have to handle pay and other negotiations themselves or appoint specialists to advise them on this.


Scotland is retaining its Agricultural Wages Board (AWB), while next week the National Assembly for Wales begins consideration of a bill which would effectively preserve an AWB for Wales alone.
