Milk Link increases milk price by 1p/litre

Milk Link has announced it will increase its member milk price by 1p/litre from today (1 October).

The increase takes the standard litre price to 26.7p/litre and will apply to all Milk Link members, apart from those on organic and SE manufacturing price schedules.

Milk Link chief executive, Neil Kennedy said the increase was the result of the co-op securing higher returns from its cheese, long-life milk and ingredients operations through improved efficiency and demonstrated its commitment to paying a “competitive and sustainable milk price”.

“The increase is of course particularly necessary as it comes at a time when all in dairying are under considerable financial pressure as a result of  significant cost inflation both on farm and in the processing & distribution of dairy products,” he added.
