November price rise on the way from Milk Link

Milk Link has announced a further price increase for its farmer suppliers from next month.

Producers on its manufacturing and liquid price schedules will get an extra 0.5p/litre from 1 November, taking the standard litre price for both contracts to 28.5p/litre. Non-member “direct” dairy farmer suppliers will also receive a 0.5p/litre increase from 1 November, except for those linked to a basket of prices schedule.

The increase followed a 1p/litre rise last month, which came on the back of improved returns from liquid and commodity markets.

“This latest price increase will give a further much-needed boost to our members at a time when their dairy businesses are under considerable financial pressure,” said Neil Kennedy, Milk Link chief executive.

“We remain committed to paying a sustainable return to our members to reflect their financial commitment, hard work and dedication to producing high-quality milk.”
