Rural Payments Agency admits that 1500 top priority single farm payment applicants are still to be paid

The Rural Payments Agency has admitted that there are still about 1500 commercial farmers waiting for a single farm payment.

The agency released a statement yesterday which suggested that all top priority claimants – those with claims worth more than €1000 – were to receive a partial payment.

But it has emerged that of the 2587 partial payments sent out on Monday (26 June), only 822 were to commercial farmers.

This means that there are about 1500 producers still waiting for either a full or part payment.

An RPA spokesman said that a lot of work was going on ahead of the EU payment deadline and it was possible that more partial payments could be made before 30 June.
