Subsidised business courses offered for Welsh farmers

Farmers in Wales looking to improve their business knowledge or technical skills can apply for up to 80% off the cost of Farming Connect’s training courses.

The courses cover a range of skills and aim to help farmers run resilient, sustainable businesses.

Approved courses include: Planning your business for the future, Marketing your business, Advanced cattle foot-trimming, Lambing techniques, Practical hedge laying and Tractor driving.

The training element of Farming Connect’s Lifelong Learning and Development programme is delivered by Lantra Wales. Since 2015, more than 3,000 training courses have been completed.

Before submitting an online application form, applicants must be registered with Farming Connect, provide a unique email address and register with Sign On Cymru.

The application window opens on 1 October and closes on 26 October 2018.

Anyone planning to apply for funding for completing a machinery and equipment use course will need to complete Farming Connect’s fully funded online Health and Safety course first.
