Poultry Trainee Award launched

Pfizer and Poultry World are inviting entries for a new award for 2007 which recognises trainees who have expanded their skills by on-the-job NVQ training with the chance of winning a £2000 prize.

In recent years training to NVQ level in the poultry industry has increasingly taken place in the workplace. Colleges are now focusing mainly on NVQ training, along with private training providers.

This award is designed to encourage technical excellence through training and recognise the investment made by both the employer and the employee.

Employers can nominate trainees or employees can enter themselves and get their employer to fill in their section of the form.

The process

Entries will be shortlisted to three finalists by a panel of judges. Each finalist will then be profiled in Poultry World in July, August and September. And then, you as a reader of Poultry World can play your part in voting for the winner.

The winner will have the opportunity to progress his/her career through a tailor-made training programme of their choosing to the value of £2000. The award and prize will be presented in early December.

“There are many dedicated and talented people in this industry and this is an opportunity for them to add the award to their CV as well as to help further their career,” says Emmeline Randall, Pfizer Animal Health product manager.
