Somerset auction is a success

South-west auctioneer Greenslade Taylor Hunt has reported a successful sale of 163 acres of land around Langport in Somerset. All 19 lots offered were sold, with top price going to a 1.48-acre paddock that made £54,000. Other pasture land made up to £6600/acre, arable up to £7325/acre and moorland pasture up to £5825/acre.

Auctioneer Neil Biffen said guide prices were comfortably exceeded on several lots, demonstrating, in this case, that the land market could prove resilient to the present economic difficulties.
