South Devon bull parades at Perth

ONE OF the South Devon breed’s most famous herds paraded the top priced bull at Perth this week.


Grove Lysander 25th, from the influential herd of W H D Scott at Moreton-in-Marsh, Glos realised 2700gns to Ayrshire farmer A W Wilson. Lysander is by Waddeton Centurion and out of a cow by Tregotha Saffron and has a beef value of +32.


Breeders M and T Broome of Market Harborough, Leics, had also made the trip north and sold their young bull Welland Valley Explorer at 1600gns to A King, East Lothian.


He also paid the top female price of 1500gns for Northwick Henna 8th consigned by Northwick Estate, Moreton-in-Marsh, Glos. This 2003-bred heifer is by Oxey Conquest and had a beef value of +23.
