Sussex tenancy offers broad scope

One of the largest tenancies of its type to come to the south-east market in recent years offers a substantial opportunity for existing farmers or new tenants, according to agent Strutt & Parker.

Conyboro Farms is a mixed, ring-fenced farm of 1,011 acres near Lewes, East Sussex. The land is mostly flat, low-lying grade 3 land with some grade 2 soil. More than 80% is ploughable and carries a mix of cropping including grass leys, wheat and maize, says agent Nicholas Watson. Buildings include grain storage and stock housing amounting to 45,000sq ft.

Conyboro Farms will be available to lease on a Farm Business Tenancy for five years, extendable at the landlord’s discretion. Entitlements will be let with the land and applicants are invited to tender for the whole holding by 6 August. Housing is available by separate negotiation. (Strutt & Parker 01273 475 411)
