VIDEO: 2010 FW Awards – Why you should enter

There’s still time to enter the 2010 Farmers Weekly Awards, but the closing date is fast approaching.

There are 14 categories representing all sectors – from dairy to diversification and contractor to countryside. So if your farm is a bit special, then we want to hear from you.

Even if you’re a modest person who normally avoids the limelight, this is a chance to gain recognition – not just for yourself, but for your whole team.

Farming is a tough job and the Awards are a great chance to celebrate all that’s great about our industry and give those involved the chance to shine.

Farmers Weekly, together with our industry sponsors, feel that by telling great farmers’ stories we can spread best practice, inspire others and influence the public about the critical role that farmers play in today’s society.

So if you’re someone who works hard, is innovative and committed to the future of agriculture, then put modesty aside, because you could be just the sort of person we want to see shortlisted.

The Awards have become a symbol of the innovation and commitment of British producers and growers. Now in their sixth year, they have recognised nearly 250 finalists and winners for their achievements and hard work.

Perhaps you’re running a hyper-efficient business? Have cut costs considerably? Have done something environmentally innovative? Perhaps you’ve adapted to the changing marketplace or diversified in an original way or are a brilliant people manager?

Even if you don’t want to nominate yourself, perhaps you can think of a relative, friend or neighbour who could be worthy of this prestigious accolade? If you don’t nominate them, they could miss out.

Help us showcase the best of the best. Help us celebrate our industry. Help us put farmers where they belong – centre stage.

You’ve got until 30 April to get your entry in or to make any nominations.
