VIDEO: Music and free food at milk protest in Droitwich

There was something of a festival atmosphere in the air when farmers blockaded milk processor Robert Wiseman Dairies at Droitwich Spa.

Some 300 farmers and their families turned to protest at milk price cuts that will plunge many farm businesses into the red.

Price cuts of up to 4p per litre threaten to wipe more than £50,000 off dairy farm incomes that were barely profitable in the first place.

This protest took place on Sunday (22 July).

Protestors were treated to a free barbecue and tunes, courtesy of a mobile sound system.
