VIDEO: World shearing titles settled at Royal Welsh

Six world titles were settled at the Golden Shears World Shearing and Woolhandling Championship, which was staged at this year’s Royal Welsh Show.

About 5000 animals were sheared throughout the two-day event, watched by hundreds of spectators at the showground’s Meirion Shearing Centre.

New Zealanders claimed three of the six titles, including World Machine Shearing Individual, World Machine Shearing Team and World Woolhandling Team.

The highest placed Welsh competitor was Bronwen Tango from Monmouthshire in south east Wales, who claimed the individual wool handling title.

A total of 27 countries, including a team from Japan, took part in the Championships.
