FW Awards: Deadline approaching for entries 30 April
The clock is ticking, so don’t miss out, as there are just a few days left to enter the ultimate awards in farming.
The closing date for entries to Farmers Weekly Awards 2014 is Wednesday 30 April.
If you have been nominated, please don’t let down the people who have put you forward by leaving it too late to get your entry in.
If you haven’t been nominated but are still trying to decide whether to put an entry together for your own business, remember just taking that step says a huge thanks to all of those who work alongside you to achieve success. It shows that you think they’re worth it.
There are 15 categories to choose from so there is something for everybody. We even have two new categories this year – Farm Employer of the Year and Sustainable Farmer of the Year.
We are looking for farmers from all parts of the UK and from any size of business who can demonstrate technical and business excellence – whatever the enterprise.
The entries that will stand out will be from the people who can paint us a picture of how their business has grown.
Judges will be looking for evidence of how people are applying themselves to the challenges of both today and tomorrow and can demonstrate how they are running profitable, sustainable businesses with a bright future.
Taking the step and entering could be a business-changing event.
Last year’s Farmers Weekly Farmer of the Year Robert Newborough, of Rhug Organic Farms, said winning was a launch pad to do more to promote his Rhug Farm brand.
“The benefit from the award has been enormous,” he said. “We have since won regional butcher of the year, have worked with Isuzu and have co-branded with the second largest baby food manufacturer, Plum Baby Organic Food.
“We have also used the publicity to extend our markets abroad, especially in the Middle East,” he added.
