10-year-old wins FW/RSPB birdsong competition

The winner in the Farmers Weekly/RSPB birdsong competition is 10-year-old Rosita Taylor of Fitling, Humberside.

She correctly identified the birds as: Skylark, lapwing, yellowhammer, blackbird, blue tit, barn owl, buzzard and robin.

Rosita’s answer to the tie-breaker question was: “My favourite birdsong was the robin because its song reminds me of Christmas and sounds magical when I’m playing fairies with my sister in my woodland. We always try to creep up and spy on it singing.”

Her prize is a super bird spotting kit worth over £50. The runners-up in this popular competition get a fabulous bird soft toy and everyone who entered receives a RSPB Fun Book.
