The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers has dismissed rumours that future Livestock Events could be moved back to a September date.
RABDF chief executive Nick Everington said he was committed to the new July date as it allowed farmers to make better purchasing decisions.
With 461 exhibitors for the 2013 event and advance ticket sales up by 12% the signs were there that there was strong support for the show taking place earlier in the year, he said.
“Let me be clear – we are focussed on July. We wouldn’t have gone to all the trouble of lining everything up to change. There are a lot of good reasons to stick to the July date. We are stuck on July,” he said.
