New directors needed for Oxford Farming Conference

The Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) is inviting expressions of interest from people keen to join the nine-strong team of council directors from January 2010 for a three-year term.

The council works to deliver the conference programme, speakers and the charitable works undertaken by the OFC.

“We need directors who have a breadth of experience in the agri-food or land management sectors and who have an extensive network of contacts both in business and agricultural community in the UK and further afield,” explains Heather Peck, OFC chairman for 2010.

“The positions are honorary but reasonable expenses are reimbursed and attendance at the conference is free of charge.”

The OFC is interested in individuals who are passionate about the future of farming and have:

• a track record of innovation in agriculture or horticulture

• experience of developing policy and strategy

• good communication and PR skills

• creative ideas for the future development of the OFC.

Anyone interested in applying can download an application form from the OFC website at Closing date for applications if 29 July midday.
