Video: Passionate breeders put special beef herd up for sale

It was the end of an era for farmers John and Heather Phillips, when they sold their entire Limousin beef herd at Whitland mart in December.

After 35 years of farming and no children to take over the family farm, they made the decision to sell both the farm and their Gronw herd.

Prices were good and eighty lots were sold, to a total of more than £183,000.

John, a former breed chairman at national level, said they were happy with their decision, but that it would feel strange to wake up the next day without the herd.
