Wales YFC raise £37,000 for air ambulance
Two young farmers have completed a 568-mile bike ride around Wales to raise funds for Wales Air Ambulance.
Their efforts take the total amount raised for the charity by Wales YFC members over the past 12 months to £37,759.
The charity bike ride was completed by Dylan “Beefy” Jones, who retired as Wales YFC chairman at the organisation’s AGM on 6 October, and Aled Jones, Wales YFC senior member of the year. Other young farmers joined them at various points along their way.
The mammoth journey around Wales was completed over six weekends with the various legs varying from 23 to 70 miles. It involved stops at all of the 12 County Federation Offices and the three bases of the Wales Air Ambulance in Caernarfon, Welshpool and Swansea.
“Although the bike ride was titled “Beefy’s Bike Ride” it was a joint effort from all of the members, officers and staff of Wales YFC which made the whole thing possible, and my gratitude goes out to all involved,” said Mr Jones. “The money raised will save lots of lives, and I’m so proud to be part of Wales YFC.”
