Busy time for Scottish estate sales

The market for Scottish estates is in full swing now, with a number of large properties available.

In Ayrshire, Strutt & Parker is selling the 6958-acre Linburn and Priesthill Estates nine miles from Strathaven and 23 from Glasgow.

Priced at almost £2m, the adjoining estates, which have been farmed as a single unit, include two well-managed grouse moors as well as low-ground shoots and fishing.

Both have potential sites for significant principal estate houses, said agent Robert McCulloch.
