Farming in Europe: New fields of opportunity

CAP REFORM has laid the foundations for the future of food production and its countryside. From next year, European farming is truly open for business. As national barriers are removed, more farmers, landowners and rural entrepreneurs will be searching for profit-making opportunities across the EU. To help them make the most of this opportunity, farmers weekly is staging a seminar at the French SIMA Show near Paris on Feb 28, 2005.

We will have a panel of top advisers experienced in helping farmers to relocate within Europe or to establish farming and rural businesses in countries other than their own.

Also taking part will be Tim Green, who runs a mixed farm at Vimer, Normandy, France. With 21 years’ experience of dairy, sheep and arable production, Tim will focus on the difficulties and benefits of relocating a farming business to France.
