Irish interest for Shropshire land

Shropshire and mid-Wales agent Halls has recently offered 295 acres of arable land near Bridgnorth in Shropshire. Looking for offers based on £5000/acre or over, James Evans of Halls said he found good demand from a large range of buyers from all over England and Ireland, as well as strong local interest.

Auction achieves 45% over guide

Just over 18 acres of agricultural land at Slipton, near Thrapston, was guided at £90,000, but the gavel fell at £130,000 (£6967/acre) – 45% above the guide.

Auctioneer James Sealy of Northamptonshire agent Henry H Bletsoe & Son said that given the economic conditions this was an excellent result.

Local buyers for Cheshire acres

Agent Wright Manley reported a good result at auction, with 35.54 acres of medium loam grass/arable land at Buerton, near Audlem, sold in two lots to total £237,000 (£6668/acre) to local farmer buyers.

Two small grass paddocks at Swettenham Heath, near Congleton, also met considerable interest from local buyers. At the same sale a 1.1-acre pony paddock at Wybunbury, near Nantwich, changed hands at £22,500.
