A rare Borders arable unit is being sold by Savills’ Edinburgh office.
Agent Adam Buxton is selling 357-acre Whitecross Farm near Coldingham, a few miles north of the Scottish border.
He said the farm was originally a mixed unit with 25 ewes and 70 suckler cows, but was now mainly contract arable farmed by a neighbour.
Mr Buxton said the farm could catch the eye of the growing number of Irish buyers looking for property in England and Scotland.
However, he said with a bit of money the six-bed period house, which has views over the sea, could be modernised to create a very attractive dwelling that could also appeal to lifestyle buyers.
The farm is guided at offers over £1.35m and Mr Buxton said values in the region were increasing, mainly driven by a shortage of supply.
“Figures are still nudging up, there is just nothing on the market. Prime arable land is worth over £5000/acre.”
