£2120 call at Craven Dairy Auction

A home-bred pedigree Holstein  Friesian from Brian Moorhouse, Hesper Farm, Bell Busk, sold for the top call of £2120 at Craven Dairy Auction, Skipton this week.


This second calver by the Genus bull, Moet Melody is giving 35 litres and went to Wick Williams, Nantwich, Cheshire.


At £2110 was a newly calved heifer from Robert Crisp of Nelson Farm, Calton which sold to Geoff Bleazard of Ribchester.


Malcolm and Robert Swires, Haverah Park, Beckwithshaw sold their newly calved cow for £1980 to C and J R Terry, Fountains.


This was closely followed by a newly calved heifer from Mr Crisp, selling at £1920.


Messrs Swires also sold another freshly calved cow to Mr Houseman for £1880 to Messrs Terry.


A consignment of British Friesian in-calf heifers from the late John Reynoldson, Skyreholme were all purchase by Clarence Smith, Sutton-in-Craven to a top price of £1080.
