3100gns top at Border and Lakeland Holstein sale

Yesterday’s sale of Holsteins on behalf of the Border and Lakeland Club at Carlisle saw the top price of 3100gns paid for the pre-sale show reserve champion, Errolston Rolo Ruth from B and V Davidson, Errolston, Gretna. By homebred sire Errolston Rolo and bred from three generations of Ex or VG dams, she sold to A and B Bargh, Skelton, Penrith.

At 2500gns was the champion from the show, Epsland Talent Agatha. This one, from D I and F M Cannon, is by Ladino Park Talent and having calved at the end of April was sold giving 36kg a day. She also went home with Messrs Bargh.

Making the same money was Newheaton Bonanza Queen from New Heaton Holsteins. By Magor Bonanza Allen and out of a Lord Lily dam classified VG she sold to N and S J Sanderson, Lanercost.

Next best call of 2300gns was given for a fresh calved heifer from J Bryson and Son, Lesmahogow, by Cotopierre J R Belero and out of five generations of Ex dams. She was bought by Messrs Forest, Cummertrees Annan.
