All set for a solid Red Ladies Day sale

Being back in the FW office for a day to help out with the Christmas rush means I get the added perks of catching up on the sales catalogues that have come in! I’ve just had a flick through the Limousin female offering for Red Ladies Day on 12th December.

Although nothing incredibly flash is jumping out at me straight away there are one or two little gems that will be worth a look at. My first impressions (which I’m glad to report are following the same lines as a certain H&H informer!) would be that Medrad Boriana from Hughes and Co will be worth a shout. By Ionesco out of Medrad Oriana, this heifer has caused quite a stir on the show circuit winning her class at the Royal Welsh and as well as being part of the winning team at the Welsh.

Also in the running will be Millington Choice from Millington Grange Estate – no doubt this will come out looking the business having won a heap of rosettes over the summer.

With a solid pedigree behind her I wouldn’t mind betting the best entry from Paul Dawes will be Dinmore Bella. By the famous Wilodge Tonka and out of the herd’s renowned show cow Fleethill Sal, she sells PD’d in calf to Fieldson Alfy.

The only other one that’s caught my eye is Glenrock Caprice from Stephen Illingworth. Full sister to the 25,000gns Glenrock Ventura she is by Glenrock Spartacus and out of Glenrock Saspirilla. Caprice stood 2nd at the Highland this year and is only for sale as ET sisters were born into the herd this year.

It’s shame I won’t be a the sale, but a sunny holiday in Egypt is keeping me away from a cold Borderway Mart!
