Angus outfit claims South West record of £6,510

A major reduction sale of the Woodington herd, North Devon, averaged £2,382 for cow/calf outfits and set a West Country record of £6,510 on Saturday (14 July).

Owned by Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s Robert Venner of UM and RJ Venner, 65 pedigree Aberdeen Angus were offered, topping with Woodington Pink Gloria R488, selling with a Rawburn embryo transfer calf at foot.

The trade-topping cow is out of a Dark Lane Eric daughter and by Oakchurch Darkley, while the heifer is out of Rawburn Ellen Erica J926 (pictured) and by Rawburn Fast Ball.

Next at £4,620 was Dark Lane Jonty daughter Woodington Pink Gloria R491, which is out of Lockerley Top GunF731 with an embryo heifer calf at foot called Woodington Idlewyld Rachis.

Idlewyld Rachis is by Remitall H Rachis and out of Hoff Idlewyld, from one of the best female lines in North America.
