Beef Shorthorns peaked at 3,500gns and headed the multi native breeds sale at Chelford on Saturday (8 November).
Sale leader at 3,500gns was Lynthorpe Brawith Bud 10, a 22 month old in calf heifer by Podehole Brigadier and out of a Croxtonpark Nero sired dam from Gordon and Lynda Robson, Marton, Rugby. She was knocked down to Messrs Pearce, Hollington, Stafford.
Next at 2,350gns was Holkin Daisy Grace TI +16, SRI +16, a 20 month old in calf heifer by Fearn Abraham and out of a Chapelton Fulcrum dam from Messrs Hollows, Coton, Shrewsbury. Buyer was MR and JE Souter, Barnard Castle, Durham.
Tamhorn Fudgie, a two-year-old bull by Chapelton Promoter from Danny and Jane Wyllie, Edingale, Stafford, secured the championship and commanded a 2,400gns bid from Messrs Harding, Tattenhall, Chester.
In-calf cows peaked at 2,000gns for Croxtonpark Rothes Primadonna TI +13, SRI +9, a six year old from Mark Holmes, Albrighton, Wolverhampton. Sired by Chapelton Welcome she went home with Andrew and Caroline Ivinson, Penrith.
The maiden heifer section was led at 1,900gns by the 16-month-old Sannan Heather June 2, from Tudor Williams, Llansannan. Denbigh. This Cairnsmore Amos daughter made 1,900gns to Messrs Ford, Kettleshulme, Whaley Bridge.
The female and reserve championship went to the 19-month-old heifer, Fedwen Mair 1 from EM Roberts, Llanwrst. Sired by Minsca Captain, she sold for 1,850gns to Ashfield Farms, Chesterfield.
