Competition opportunity for British meat

Celebrating the best of British meat will be the aim of three National Festival of Meat competitions to be staged by the Royal Smithfield Club this autumn for producers in three major livestock producing regions.

“At a time when many producers are looking for ways to improve their returns from beef and lamb, these three events offer the ideal opportunity to display to consumers the very best of British meat,” said Brian Glaves, chairman of the organising committee.

The first, a beef ribs and saddle of lamb competition, will take place at The Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s Countryside Live Food and Farming Fair at Harrogate on 29-30 October.

Next will be the beef ribs competition at Scottish Winter Fair’s new Ingliston venue on 23 November.

The last will be held at The Welsh Winter Fair, Builth Wells on 28-29 November.
