TB survey slow

Plans to conduct a survey of bovine TB in 400 found-dead badgers in Wales are making slow progress.

Scientists have told the Welsh Assembly it will take a year to collect that many badgers to determine the total infected by TB and, through genotyping, the regional origin of the disease.

The assembly has decided it will not consider a badger cull until the survey results are completed.
