Beltex sell to 2,500gns at Lanark

It’s been a busy week for the Beltex breed with three official society sales.

Leading the week’s trade at 2,500gns was a shearling tup at the Beltex Scotland club’s sale, Lanark.
The sale topper from society president Jock McMillan, Carse of Clary, Newton Stewart is a shearling by Dooley Pierre , out of Clary Natty. He was knocked down to Robert Hamilton, Mid Shawtonhill, Strathaven who also took another Dooley Pierre son out of a homebred Clary ewe at 1,200gns.

Over in Stirling shearling rams sold to 1,050gns for Mortons Smoking Joe, a Chobab V/D Harlembois son and out of a homebred dam from A Morton, Stirling. He sold to JD Steele, Pitroddie, Perth.

Across the Scottish border in Kendal prices failed to reach four figures with a top of 800gns for the first lot in the ring Northcop Ram Raider, a two shear ram by Caberfeidh Puma from A Story, Longtown, Carlisle. This one sold to to R Hall and Son, Dalston, Carlisle.
