Bentham dairy sale sees £2500 high

Topping last week’s dairy sale at Bentham was Bayview Charm 16 from Geoff and Deborah Pye, Arkholme. This Regancrest-Mr Drham Sam sired heifer with five generations of VG and EX behind her saw frenzied bidding with Messrs Dickinson, Greystoke, having the successful bid of £2500.

Messrs Dickinson also went on to purchase two newly calved heifers each for £2220. The first being from Robert Barker, Arkholme, Gunnerthwaite Anderson 12 a Bowberhill Logrey Adam daughter, 21 days calved. The second at this money was from Nigel Barker, Burton in Kendal, with his commercial heifer 21 days calved giving 31kgs daily.

Mr Barker  also sold Kandybow Mr S Watch, another Regancrest-Mr Drham Sam daughter giving 29kgs daily at £2000. This went to Neil Slack, Heads Nook.

Mr Slack also purchased another heifer at £2000 mark from Stephen Lawso, Burton in Kendal. This was Deerslet TS Viola a Jenny-Lou Mr SHL Toystory daughter. And a blue and white Dairy Shorthorn cross heifer from Messrs Sunderland of Aspatria also achieved £2000 when selling to  John Walton, Wray Green.
