Bishops take Beltex championship and female top price
Top spot in the pre-sale show of Beltex yesterday went to the female champion, a shearling ewe from Andy and Becky Bishop, Glos. This ewe, which had been the flock’s show ewe this season is by Luggsmill Jethro and out of Bishops Kelly, a Bishopton Hamish daughter. She later sold for the top female price of the sale, 2900gns.
Next best call in the females was a 2200gns sale for Beachy Madonna from John and Heather Barclay. This one is by the good breeding sire Clary Kaiser Chief and out of Beachy Klassic, a Clary Hope daughter.
Then at 2000gns was one from Allan Jackson, Headlind Maria. She’s by Belgian sire Phenomenal V/H Groetenhof and out of a Southolm dam which cost £2200.
A brace sold at 1800gns, the first again from Allan Jackson was Headlind Maxi, another daughter of the Belgian sire. The second at this level was another Kaiser Chief daughter from the Beachy flock, this one was out of Beachy Just Perfect.
